Are hydrangeas best grown in containers or in the lawn for zone 8?

The nice thing about growing hydrangeas in containers is that you can move them about to find the right spot!

Whether in a container or in the ground, in your area, I would find a place with morning sun and afternoon shade. With container plants, they do tend to dry out faster than ones in the ground. You may need to water twice a day during hot, dry spells. Endless Summer Hydrangeas has a great guide on caring for hydrangeas with a section on container plantings. Check it out for additional tips.
