Since Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangeas mature 6-7’ x 4-5’, don’t skimp on the size of the container. Be certain to pick a size that will give the roots room to grow and the top room to spread. The shape doesn’t really matter. Our growing in containers guide has good tips for selecting the pot. The old flowers can be trimmed just above the next set of leaves. As for sun, it really isn’t that picky and will grow in full sun or with several hours of morning sun or afternoon sun. Just avoid a really shady spot.
