Can I plant my hydrangea in a partially shaded bed covered with river stones?

Can I plant my hydrangea in a partially shaded bed covered with river stones?

Not a good idea!

I would find a place with good morning sun and a little bit of protection from it in the afternoon. Instead of hydrangea, I would plant Cobalt-n-Gold Hypericum in a place with hot afternoon sun. It can take the abuse.

Thanks for writing!
