Do dahlias come back every year in Zone 6?

There are just a few steps to growing dahlias year after year.

Dahlia roots, tubers, need to be lifted at the end of each season. In the fall after a frost, pull the plants up out of the ground or container. Cut off the old stems and set out in the sun to dry. Then, overwinter in a paper bag with peat moss or sawdust in a heated garage or basement. In the spring, replant!
