Take a look at my video on winter prep for tips including watering and mulching. It’s always important to water plants well going into winter. Wisteria should be pruned late winter. You may not need to this first winter depending on the height and form. Eventually, late winter, early spring is a good time to prune to encourage good behavior and to train the branches to go in the right direction. It’s also a good time to tie down branches as you train it to cover a pergola or archway. Remember, wisteria requires a sturdy support system.
