I noticed that some of my sumacs are drying up. One looks like it's dead. Any suggestions?

Sumacs are one of those plants that thrive on neglect.

Have you had heavy rainfall or problems with drainage? If so, Tiger Eyes Sumac will react with the leaves turning brown and dropping off. If saturated soil is a problem, you can open up some airholes with a pitchfork around the base of the sumacs. That will help the ground dry out. Otherwise, just leave them be. They should leaf out again next spring. The sad part is you will miss out on their pretty fall color!
