I recently purchased a vanilla strawberry hydrangea tree. Do I need to protect it further from deer? Should I wrap in burlap?

I would definitely wrap the Vanilla Strawberry tree trunk to protect it from deer. They always seem to go after favorite plants! You could use burlap, a grocery sack or a trunk protector you buy at a store. Check it from time to time to see if insects are nesting for winter. Also, mulch the roots well for winter to protect them from freezing.
