I won't be home in early spring- can I prune Amber Jubilee & Purpleleaf Sand Cherry now?

This time of year, it’s best to back away from the pruners!

The reason is that there isn’t enough time for the cuts to heal before winter weather hits. Since you won’t be around them in early spring, just wait until after the purpleleaf sand cherry flowers to prune it. The Amber Jubilee can be pruned anytime spring through summer. Of course, spring is best.
