Is there a compact hydrangea growing no more than 4 feet high that would do well in morning shade and afternoon sun?

Good question!

Most of the First Editions’ hydrangeas will mature larger than 4’. However, take a look at Light-O-Day. It matures 3-5’ tall. I think it’s worth trying in your garden. Both the flowers and leaves are beautiful.
