My front yard has poor dirt and receives sun all afternoon. Could you tell me what plants would do well here?

Great question. I can think of a few plants that would grow well and look great in that area!

Since the dirt is poor and the conditions are harsh, before you plant anything, take time to amend the soil. Our planting and care guide will help you get started. Then, it’s time to pick out the plants. Bubblegum Pink, Coral Crème Drop, Cotton Candy and Grape Lollipop garden phlox will all do well and they have fragrant flowers. Closer to the edge of the sidewalk, plant some sedums. They can handle being stepped on. For some contrast, add some clumps of Prairie Dropseed grass, another tough plant. Peonies, bearded iris, yarrow, penstemon and coneflower will also do well.
