Should I cut back my Summer Cascade wisteria?

Should I cut back my Summer Cascade wisteria?

Knowing the type of wisteria helps with knowing when to prune and how often.

Summer Cascade is considered a Kentucky Wisteria and much loved for being cold hardy and fast growing. Fall is a good time of year to trim off the old flowers. Root pruning in the fall will encourage flowering in the spring as will spring fertilizing. Morton Arboretum has a great guide with more detailed instructions on pruning.
