The leaves on my gardenias are turning yellow and brown. Help!

Good question!

As gardenias are an evergreen, it is natural for their leaves to turn brown in the spring and drop off as new ones are coming on. However, it can also be a sign of poor drainage. Here’s another possible reason – are you overhead watering? That can cause problems with gardenia leaves. Watering at the base of the plant rather than overhead will help solve that problem.

Thanks for writing!
