I bet it's stressed out.

At the garden center, it had a pampered life with a splash of water once or twice a day. And, maybe in a shady, protected spot. Now, it’s in a new home. Plants often react to stress with yellow leaves and will even drop some leaves. Your Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea is going to need a bit more water than expected while the roots grow and the whole tree settles in. Next year, it will be much happier.
