Though Campfire Rose is a hardy shrub, I would still give it winter protection in your area. Be certain it is watered well going into winter. You don’t want dry, frozen roots. Prune it back some. You can cover and protect it with a rose cone. Or, using chicken wire, create a cage for it and fill with crushed leaves or mulch. Keep in mind that a risk of covering up plants for winter, is creating a safe haven for rodents. They will also appreciate the winter cover and may munch on your rose bush. Rodent bait will help solve that problem.
