Why are my gardenia leaves yellowing?

There could be several reasons for yellowing leaves with a gardenia.

It might be worth checking the soil pH again this year. It sounds like it’s chlorotic and doesn’t have enough magnesium and iron. Or, if you have had a rainy spell and the water isn’t draining well, that can cause yellow leaves. But, do keep in mind that some yellowing and dropping off in the spring with mature leaves is to be expected.
