Why are the blooms on my crapemyrtle pink instead of purple?

Why are the blooms on my crapemyrtle pink instead of purple?

Interesting!

I’m not certain why the new cutting has a different flower color than the original plant. That’s odd. Perhaps, the original crapemyrtle was grafted on another color’s rootstock. And, you took a cutting from the rootstock. You might try a cutting from a purple flowering branch and see what happens.

Thanks for writing!
