Why is my week old fireside shrub wilting?

It sounds like it is suffering from shock. Here's what's happened...

Your Fireside Ninebark went from being coddled at the garden center to uprooted from its container and put out in the summer sunshine. And, it isn’t very happy about it. As the roots get settled in, your new shrub won’t need as much water. Can you give it a little afternoon shade for a week or two? Some people use peach baskets to protect leafy plants from afternoon sun. Don’t worry if it drops a few leaves as it goes through this shock. Ninebarks are tough plants.

Thanks for writing!
