Why won't my hydrangeas bloom?

The hydrangeas that flower on new growth should be pruned in early spring. If you prune late spring or early summer, you are probably cutting off the flower buds.
Also, too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus will cause hydrangeas to grow lush leaves but no flowers. Look for a fertilizer with an NPK ration that has a higher percent of P (phosphorus). Plenty of sunshine and water will make a difference too.
