Would magnolia trees do well in zone 9A?

Centennial Blush Star Magnolia does well in zones 4-9. In your area, compost should be added to the existing dirt when planting and water regularly. You might check with the designers of the California State University Bakersfield botanical garden for additional ideas on what to plant.
